FOUNDER'S LOG 004: Still Happy
Share
It’s been a while since the last Founder’s Log - almost exactly an entire year, actually.
If you’ve been following the occasional snippet on socials, you’ll know — HAPPYPOT® has been quiet. Not quiet as in sleeping or dead, quiet as in locked in, doing important stuff... in the darkness.
Behind the scenes, it’s been a year of expansion, experimentation, and constant improvement.
But in the process, we kind of got stuck in build mode.
Fixing. Upgrading. Optimizing. Always preparing for something just a little further down the road.
And now?
We realize that the thing we’ve been preparing for — the version of Happy Pot we’ve been dreaming about — is finally ready.
Not perfect, but ready.
So here it is.

LET'S CATCH YOU UP.
Because every time I bump into someone, the question always comes up:
“How’s Happy Pot doing?”
And my go-to response — the one I’ve said so many times I could trademark it — is:
“Still happy.”
And that much is true.
Happy Pot is still very happy - and I’m happy to see it.
The original idea — to create the world’s coolest plant pot brand — is still the idea.
We still want to make plant pots cool again.
We still want to brighten up people’s spaces (and faces).
And yeah, maybe even make the world a slightly happier place.
We - mostly me - also want to make more cool stuff. With HAPPYPOT®, we have the potential to create a truly happy brand, extending to home decor, merch and collectibles.
We want to turn every single house into a happy frickin’ home (!!!)
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves (again).
WHAT HASN'T CHANGED?
Our promise.
To rid the world of boring plastic plant pots, make people happier, and plant more trees. (In that order. Probably.)
Our passion.
Creativity and happiness. Turning wild ideas into real things. Helping cool brands give gifts that grow. And finding joy in every sketch, print, and pot-shaped pun along the way.
Our purpose.
To build a little community of good humans doing good things — starting with a smile, a story, and a pot.
Because if we can make homes happier, we’re pretty sure the world will follow.
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
We’ve grown — not just in tools, but in mindset.
There’s a new office that actually feels like a creative playground.
There’s a team of incredible humans — freelancers, collaborators, and chaos wranglers — who believe in this as much as I do.
There’s a clearer understanding of what Happy Pot is really here to do.
And there’s finally a rhythm: test, tweak, print, repeat.
The vision for HAPPYPOT®'s product range is undeniably cool.
- Beautifully designed, from minimal & modern to playful and intricate.
- Customizable in style, texture, colour and size.
- New locking mechanism for hassle-free re-watering (or as a stash for your stuff).
- Personalizable, collectible BADGES® now use magnets with a satisfying *click*.
Oh, and yeah — the new printers are incredible, but more on that another time.
STAYING ON TRACK (SORT OF).
Of course, having access to all this shiny tech does mean one thing:
It’s way easier for a highly hyperactive, easily-distracted, mister-“I can probably make that” type of guy to lose the plot, forget the pot, and start designing some cool chairs or fat lady statues instead.
(Yes, those exist. No, you can’t see them yet.)
HAPPYPOT® for Business
Over the past year, we’ve created some incredible custom pots for businesses — and that’s still a huge part of what we do.
Helping companies give thoughtful, creative gifts that grow? That’s a win-win.
It’s where we get to collaborate, flex our design muscles, and make a real eco-impact at scale.
But now, alongside all of that, it’s time to reintroduce HAPPYPOT® as it was originally intended.
Not just the brand behind other people’s ideas.
But the home of our own.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Somewhere in the chaos of prototypes, client work and daring new designs, I remembered why this whole thing exists:
That moment when someone sees a Happy Pot and smiles.
Not because it’s sustainable. Not because it’s practical.
But because it feels like them.
It has a face.
A story.
So that’s what we’re doubling down on.
• A better, happier, more dynamic range of pots & decor
• A refreshed identity
• A redesigned website (again)
• A campaign-focused marketing strategy.
• A vision to make the world a happier place, one pot at a time.
All of the above in the next few weeks (finally).
And yep — the Founder’s Log is back, too.
I know people say this a lot but, watch this space.
Still happy,
Chris
